I have learned that it’s very important that we follow the guidelines for Copyright and Fair Use. It can be very easy to misuse them and get into trouble. I didn’t know the guidelines went so into detail on fair use. After taking the quiz I realized it was more complicated than I thought. So I had to reread and look over the articles again. It’s important to know what we may do under the law.
I also think kids should be very well informed about cyber bullying and netiquette. They should be able to feel comfortable using the internet and not feel threatened. Using the internet is very important for many activities and should be used safely. It’s important to know and be careful about what is being put out there. It should be taken seriously and should not be abused. The consequences could turn out to be unsatisfying.
The information was very interesting and I also took the quiz it was very hard. I have to go back on each question and read it twice to make sure I can understand the content of how much we can use or copy. I encourage you to download the "cheat sheet" for future use I did it and I showed it to my mentor she was shock after reading the only things you can copy and how much you can use. She ask me for a copy for her to put it in her files for future use. I was very glad to learn all this new information. I didn't realize that it was only a certain amount for use. I am agree with you we need to inform our students about safety and bullying. Thanks for sharing your post.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you! After taking the quiz I realized that I didn't know near as much as I thought I did, especially being a future teacher in progress. Cyberbullying is something that I think kids do but they don't really know anything about. You are right, if we properly and frequently inform our students of the dangers, maybe we can make the world a better place. :)
